The Adventure Begins... and You're Invited!

The Teacher Organizer has officially launched!  As the adventure begins, I wanted to a couple of minutes to share a little background information with you and extend an invitation your way.  Here is the background information, first...

The Teacher Organizer is grounded in a couple of persistent thoughts that have been constant companions for me these past few years.  Teaching is changing is profound ways... to say the least.  Publicized test scores, government mandates, rising academic standards, new evaluation procedures, budget cuts,  (etc!) do their part in making any teaching assignment hard to navigate and pressurized (and that's putting it mildly).  In light of all the change, little is being done to assist in the support, growth and development of teachers.  Few resources help us keep our heads clear and our hearts engaged in the profession to which most of us felt "called".

Just for fun... Insert "Teaching" in place of "Second Grade"!
During the last twenty years I have been teaching and mentoring teachers,  I have learned that there are five things most teachers need to be successful. The first is a knowledge of and ability to consistently apply proven organization routines and management strategies.  The second thing teachers need is access to good curriculum materials and sound teaching techniques. The third is quick access to current research findings and examples of how it can be pragmatically integrated into their teaching practice.  The fourth teachers need is a place to ask questions and share ideas.  And lastly, and probably most importantly, teachers need a community of people who encourage and inspire them.

The Teacher Organizer is preparing to provide many of the above listed components for teachers, but the last two items are things that are best addressed by the input of many.  Your thoughts, and insights are welcomed and encouraged on all the topics that will be presented and discussed on this site.  Through the comments section under each post (titled:  Share Your Thoughts Here) on The Teacher Organizer and via The Teacher Organizer on Facebook there is opportunity to join the conversation.

And here is the invitation to you... Join the conversation, ask questions, share your experiences and insights.  We will all benefit from what you have to share!
